1967 Shelby Tribute
This 67 Shelby Tribute came to us as a Coupe to Fastback conversion, we opted to build a pretty killer driver, using a 93 Fox Body Motor & T-5 for the heart of it all along with FOX Body Efi. This allowed us to get the best of both worlds of performance, horsepower & fuel economy. Because this was conversion that meant we had to do major fabrication work, source OEM fastback components that weren’t available yet. Lucky for us we know a guy, so with that said, we opted on a OEM Shelby interior for the base, Upgraded to the Shelby Gauge Cluster, TMI’s Sport series for the seats with suede inserts and white stitching to match the stripes, a Hydraulic Clutch kit, JBA Exhaust, Painless wiring, LeD Lighting, and more. Enjoy
Just like Carrol meant them to be, this Shelby clone is a fun driver, with its 5speed manual transmission she's a great beach cruiser, at home carving the hill sides of Julian, or cruising up the 5 freeway to the 101 and thru the streets of downtown LA & Hollywood
The stance is perfect for performance and daly driver status.
Shelby gas cap, fully functional truck lock, and dual tip exhaust tie the rear view together perfectly and that Shelby badge is the icing on the cake
These tail lights were meant to be on a 67 fastback
The Shelby Guage cluster series are fantastic for a Shelby clone.
Lokar Pedals, Shelby interner and gauges pure perfection
Devils in the details on this Shelby, those center lights aren't normal fog lights, they are HID fog lights along with HID headlights
Just a killer view of her engine bay
Maeir Racing makes this special export brace to clear a fox body 5.0 Intake. We love the serpentine drive set ups and take advantage of the 3G alternators to make sure plenty of power is supplied for all our electrical needs.
Those TMI Sport Series seat are the perfect compromise between Shelby oem style seats and out right after market seats.
Upholstery in motion, we really do love the look of the 67 Shelby interior, its peak Shelby perfection
Work in progress, we start with Dyna mat, fire wall padding, and then we begin mechanical assembly of suspension, brakes and steering. This allows us to eventually get her on all fours. After that we begin electrical, fuel system and brakes. We can install the engine and tranny after the brakes have been bleed and we verify no leaks
Another view as you can see we like to shoot our cars on body carts
Stripes and everything all done, now we rapter underline before a single part goes on. We do this before color correction and polishing
Full dry run complete, so we welded it'll together. Next up body work and paint
So this is what she looks like when she's all screwed together with teks and a couple of spot welds. It is absolutely critical to do a complete ddry assembly before you do final welding. The last thing you want is insane gaps. glass that falls thru, or panels that won't align. We used factory glass, doors and fenders for the best fit possible.
Our quarters, lets friggin go!
Our Dyna corn order arrived!
And she's ready for media blast. Every build we do gets media blasted or hand stripped. We don't need any previous work coming back to haunt us especially after delivery. Juice simply isn't worth the squeeze, plus there's something to having a completely blank canvas to create from
After some reinforcement, we cut the top off literally. Our friends at Dynacorn happened to need a good roof for a project
With basic surface rust, we couldn't pass up on this project.
This 67 Coupe came to us just like this, no doors, hood, fenders, or deck lid. She was the perfect candidate for a coupe to fastback conversion.
